about the account.
- i have struggled with body image all my life. i know this experience isnt unique to me, so i wanted to create a fun & safe space for fellow plus size people!
- plus size is an umbrella term, as its definition means to be larger than average. this is why i include fat, chubby, buff and curvy characters.
- please notice how i am calling the characters i post characters and not people. this is because i also post animals/non-humans (for example: po from kung fu panda).
- if you do not like the account or disagree with what i define as plus size, thats fine and i respect u. just block the account and dni.
- if i post a problematic character/problematic show, please let me know. i don't know every single show/character i post.
fat is not a bad word.
- please read this article: The Whitewashed, Diluted Reality of Modern Body Positivity: The Important Black History of the Body Positivity Movement. it's so important that we learn about the people behind the history of the body acceptance movement.
- i called the account plus size characters of the day and not fat characters of the day for a couple reasons. 1. because there is already another account with that name and 2. plus size is a more broad and inclusive term! plus size people can be fat, chubby, and muscular. 😊
- fat is a neutral body descriptor.
- fat people are strong, capable, and deserve so much love. you are living in this body that is holding your beautiful soul, let's stop hating on it and finally give our bodies the love it deserves. society doesn't want us to love ourselves, but we'll fight back with body acceptance and body positivity.
- the word fat can be associated with a fat person's trauma because of it's negative connotation in society. if a fat person is more comfortable calling themselves chubby or plus size, there is nothing wrong with that and you should respect it.
- if you are not fat, and you find issue with the word fat, you need to step back and evaluate your fatphobia.
submission rules
- only animated characters, no real people (you can submit oc's too!)
- character has to always be plus size, they can't be someone who transforms between fat and thin
- if you don't tell me whether you want credit, i will post it as anonymous requested!
- i am allowed to deny any character requests if it makes me uncomfortable.
- i do reposts because people like to see their favorite characters again!
you'll get blocked if:
- you debate the character's body type (i.e., they're not fat enough, they're too fat) REMEMBER: PLUS SIZE PEOPLE DON'T ALL LOOK THE SAME!
- you start unnecessary body discourse in the replies
- you make fatphobic comments
- you fetishize fat people
- you're racist, colorist, proshipper, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, islamophobic, antisemitic, zoophile, etc
- i am allowed to block anyone who makes me uncomfortable.
